German Sniper(s) Targeting Brand-New Cars |
 German police are tracking an odd crime wave: snipers targeting new cars on transporters. The Agence France-Presse
reports that since mid 2008, there have been 127 such attacks. Most of
the shootings damage the doors and windows of vehicles being
transported on German highways. The damage goes unnoticed until the
cars are unloaded at their destinations.
Nobody has been injured as a result of the incidents. German police
won’t say whether they’re looking for one or multiple suspects or what
kinds of weapons have been used. Nor do police understand the shooters’
motives, although there have reportedly been similar cases in
neighboring countries.
